How Your Kickstarter Pledge Is Helping Girls All Over The World

Good news, dissenters! While all your RBG Action Figures are being boxed up and shipped out, we’re beyond excited to announce that FCTRY has donated more than $15,000 USD to our charity of choice, She’s The First.

As you know, we came up against a few roadblocks when choosing a cause to donate a portion of our proceeds to, but with your help we eventually found a deserving recipient in STF. We promised to donate $1 USD per backer and that’s exactly what we did, which means STF received a whopping $15,654.00 USD. How awesome is that?!

The money raised will support She’s the First in fighting for gender equality through education. As the name suggests, STF supports young women who will be the first in their families to graduate from high school. The nonprofit organization also offers scholarships, mentoring programs, and life skills training to students around the world, helping to foster the next generation of global leaders.

FCTRY paid a visit to this year’s STF summit in New York City, where we saw that just like RBG herself, STF scholars go on to become leaders for their peers, their communities, and future generations to come. We touched base with co-founders Tammy and Christen, and heard from graduated STF scholars like Janani Loganathan, who is doing incredible work to benefit her local community back in India — proving that education equals endless opportunity.

At the summit, we also heard more about the three key areas STF focuses their work on: Education for Girls through funding and after-school programs. Mentorship with trained female mentors who have experience in the hurdles these young women are likely to face, and Global Leadership Training through its own leadership curriculum for STF scholars.

Having more female leaders in the world is something we can totally get behind, and we’re pretty sure the notorious RBG would agree. We’ll have another update for you soon on how our donation to STF is benefiting girls around the world, but in the meantime go forth and smash that patriarchy!

Again, thank you so, so much for continuing to support our projects. We hope you’ll love your RBG Action Figure just as much as we do.

I just came across your site while Googling anything I could in regards to our beloved RBG- still so painful on a personal level, but the fiasco that will ensue in the next few weeks is unimaginable. Thx for doing what you do. Excited to see that I have great options to purchase for my 4, 6, and 8 yo grand-babies to play with. Won’t their ‘Trumper’ foster
mom be blown away when they return home from a visit here and can name all my Dem heroes. Ha!
